Education

Scorpion provides management support to carry on after we have repaired systems, identified and fixed root cause problems, and established a “clean platform” for future systems optimization. We provide hands-on training in all the relevant disciplines, delivered by masters with practical knowledge of how to get the best out of systems approaches and techniques.

Knowledge Transfer

We design customized training workshops that are tailored to convey the optimal way to carry on the best practices that we put in place after our engagement has concluded. These include areas such as Globalization, Quality Assurance and Automation, Compliance, Governance and the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Improvements of up to 30% in delivery time and quality from your staff can be seen after this training is delivered. These are not academic courses; they are hands on techniques and insights gained through years of experience at a mastery level.

Training and Workshops

Succession Planning and Career Coaching

Often we assess opportunities for improvement during projects and work on these areas with technical managers. We do this as part of a succession planning program, preparing managers for their next step (or steps) up the organizational ladder.

Example: Compliance

A large financial services company was subject to stringent compliance regulations that impacted how their IT staff operated. Under new regulations, it was mandatory that their work be documented in a particular format, performed in a particular chronological order, and signed off and approved in a particular sequence. Once the practice areas for compliance had been identified and a template developed for the practice area specifications, Scorpion generated a work flow system to capture, organize and store all the legally required signatures. The roll-out of the system involved developing a curriculum, creating workshops (involving rehearsals with “dummy” projects), teaching, testing, and certifying that all the staff were now performing in a consistent manner and, more importantly, understood the need to perform in this manner for all future projects. This company passed subsequent audits with no exceptions and no manger comments.
